Recycling STEAM Project Competition
Theme: Save the Earth

Coordinated by Eduwis & Mywis

The Recycling Competition STEAM Project which is coordinated by Eduwis dan Mywis is a Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) project that stimulates creative thinking and problem-solving skills among students.

Objectives

  • Inspire students’ creativity and problem-solving skills.
  • Encourage students to build projects using recycled materials while educating them about environment sustainability.
  • Involve parents actively in the students’ learning process.

1.KPS 2021 Recycling Competition STEAM Project is open to kindergarten students aged 5 and 6 years old.

2.This project requires parents’ involvement to assist the child to complete the project.

3.The theme for this project is “Save the Earth”.

4.This project must display the solutions to  save the Earth.

5.This project must use at least 50% recycled materials and includes the whole components of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM).

6.Each invention/innovation/idea must be original.

7.Submission must be made via digital video submission on KPS Portal on or before 14 November 2021, 11.59pm (extended).

8.The video must be recorded in AVI atau MP4 format, the layout must be in horizontal orientation with 1080P/720P resolutions.

9.The duration of each video must be within three (3) to five (5) minutes.

10.All participants must present using either Malay Language or English Language only.

11.All digital videos submitted will become the property of the oganiser. The organiser reserves the rights to publish the recordings of the videos in any platform for the purpose of promotion and education purposes.

Presentation video must contain:

  • Particulars of the contestant
  • Objectives
  • Project (The environmental problem that needs a solution)
  • List of materials used
  • The process
  • STEAM elements
  • Challenges and solutions

Theme and Project Significance

  • The project fits the recycling theme.
  • The project has quality, meaningful, cost-effective and high-impact.

STEAM Elements

  • Displays Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts dan Mathematics elements.
 20 marks

Creativity

  • The innovation must be creative (original or adapted idea) and related to teaching and learning.
 20 marks

The Delivery and Presence

  • The delivery is systematic and interesting, clear, concise and easy to understand.
  • The participant has knowledge and confidence or his/her innovation.
 20 marks

Problem-solving

  • Displays problem-solving skills and higher order thinking skills. (HOTs)
 15 marks
 Total Score:    100 marks

1.All entries will be put to public vote until 17 November 2021, 11.59pm.

2.The entries with most votes will be selected as Top 30 finalists.

3.Top 10 finalists will then be presented to panel judges to determine the Top 3 winners.
